Cancer Support Team Ministers to LUMC Members and Friends

LUMC’s Cancer Support Prayer Team brings comfort and hope in the form of prayer for those with cancer. The team will meet this Tuesday, January 27, at 7 p.m. in room 220. Anyone struggling with cancer or a representative of someone suffering from this disease is welcome to meet with our team privately for prayer. Please wait in the church library for a team member to assist you.

You can be part of the miracle team! Liberty UMC's Cancer Prayer Support Team prays for cancer patients daily. We need people to join us in daily prayer and callers to check on the status of our prayer associates monthly. This is a job you can do from home. Contact Kathleen Bird, team coordinator, at mailto:khlbird@kc.rr.com or 415-0877.

Kitchen Band to Perform
Senior Citizens and Music Lovers of all Ages will enjoy the Kitchen Band from Wexford Place Retirement Center. They’ll be performing at the February 6 Seasoned Citizen’s Potluck Luncheon at 11:45 in the Family Life Center. Everyone is invited to bring a dish to share and enjoy this special entertainment. Seasoned Citizen’s meet the first Friday of each month, and all area senior citizens are invited to participate in this fellowship ministry.

Look for details about our churchwide Lenten study in the February Overview which will be mailed to your home next week. I’m happy to announce that we’ll be studying Jim Cymbala’s When God’s People Pray. You’ll be encouraged and challenged to deepen your prayer life as a result of this study. Small groups are forming now, so contact Lora Wiles to get involved . (If you don’t receive the Overview in the mail and would like to, please contact the church office.)

Liberty’s Relay for Life will be held on the track of Liberty High School the last weekend of July. If you can walk in a circle, you can help raise money to fight cancer. Walk in memory of a loved one, in honor of a survivor or as a pledge to continue to fight this dreaded disease which touched the lives of so many.
