Bright Idea by Sondra Buell 12/16

"A Bright Idea for Parents" by Sondra Buell
When my children were growing, I loved to use "teachable moments" to bring God into our everyday life. At Christmas time, when we'd go shopping for gift wrap, I'd have the kids look for wrappings that had baby Jesus, or the three kings, a big star, or something that reflected the "real" reason we have Christmas. I'd use these moments to tell them about our Savior Jesus Christ. Yes, we'd talk about Santa and Snowmen, but I'd encourage them in their faith journey to realize that we have Christmas because of Jesus.
It's Jesus that brings us inner joy! It's Jesus that brings us eternal life!

Music Notes 12/16
Thanks be to God for a generous monetary donation dedicated to continued improvements in Wesley Hall (formerly known as “the gym”). In addition, several people have donated their time, materials and skills this week to make these improvements a reality. One of the changes you will notice immediately in worship is a center aisle unencumbered by a towering AV cart! Speakers and video projectors are mounted from the ceiling. A new sound/video booth will be built at the back of the room, Also new there is a second projection screen at the back of the room. A beautiful cross, made by Kevin Fisher, hangs on a side wall.
Again, thanks be to God!
