Lonely? Sad? Discouraged?

Going through a tough time –
emotionally or spiritually?
Struggling with a crisis in life?
Or simply feeling down?

Consider letting a Stephen Minister help. A Stephen Minister is a member of our congregation who is trained to listen, care, encourage, pray, and walk alongside you during difficult times. It’s confidential, free, and very helpful.

Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. -Galatians 6:2

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We’ve been studying the idea of Radical Hospitality in a church-wide, small group study. Whether we feel connected to our church depends, to a large extent, on whether we’re involved in a small group outside Sunday morning worship. If you’re not currently involved in a small group study of some kind, please let me know. I’d love to help you find the group that’s right for you.
Blessings!
Coordinator of Adult Ministries
Mark's Remarks 3/2
This one very “thrifty” fellow was in from outstate and he wanted to see the Sprint Center. After purchasing his ticket he remained at the box office and counted his change three times.
The ticket seller watched him for a while and finally grew impatient, the “thrifty” man was holding up the line. The ticket seller queried, “What’s the matter? Isn’t the change right?”
“Oh, it’s right,” the man replied, “but only just right.”
Our budget is closely tied to our pledges. If our generous pledges don’t come into the church on a timely basis, we are quickly short. “When we work together and all keep our pledges current, things work well.
Mark's Remarks 2/24
Paul Harvey told the story. Way back in elder Bush’s administration, his vice president, Dan Quayle, was out on the campaign trail, in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. He was stumping for an Illinois
congressman, Rep. Lynn Martin. Organizers of the political rally got schoolchildren excused from school for the parade—asked the youngsters to wave and cheer when the motorcade came by.
And they did. They did indeed wave and cheer. The remarkable thing was that the first motorcade to come by was a funeral!
This is a remarkable month for Liberty United Methodist Church! We can have a parade. Easter is
always a celebration of life and hope! We can wave and cheer the death of death, for us all!
But there is more! The Sunday after Easter will be remarkable for the unveiling of the pictures of our Lightburne campus. I hope you have, or soon will, have attended one of our informational meetings provided by the building committee. These are designed for all who have questions. Please, please take the time to attend!
What is you child learning in Sunday School? 2/24
February 24Blessed Are the Peacemakers—Matthew 5:1-12Jesus taught something called The Beatitudes. One of the
Beatitudes says, “Blessed Are the Peacemakers.” This week you’ll learn about peace. What things are peaceful to you—a pretty meadow, soft music, a cushy pillow? Do you face a situation every day that needs some peace?
An activity you can do at home would be to sing the song, “If You’re Happy and You Know It” with your child.
Just for fun, change the word “happy” to “blessed.”
If you’re happy (blessed) and you know it, clap your hands.If you’re happy (blessed) and you know it, clap your hands.If you’re happy (blessed) and you know it, then your face will surely show it.
If you’re happy (blessed) and you know it, clap your hands.Feel free to change the actions as you sing. You can stomp your feet, twirl around, or even blink your eyes.
