Today the children’s Sunday School lesson comes from Luke 2:41-52. Mary and Joseph took Jesus, when he was 12 years old, to Jerusalem for a special day called the Feast of the Passover. This was an exciting time for Jesus! After the feast, he remained behind at the temple and listened to the teachers and asked them questions. Ask your child how Mary and Joseph felt when they couldn’t find Jesus! At home, enjoy this song together - Sing one line and have the children echo you. Use the tune of “Where is Thumbkin?”Where is Jesus, where is Jesus?There he is, there he is!He is in the Temple, he is in the Temple.Twelve years old, twelve years old.
Stewardship lessons during children’s Sunday School focus on all aspects of Stewardship: Tithing of our prayers, our presence, our gifts and our service. Being good stewards is doing what God wants us to do.
Throughout the month of January we are focusing on our prayers. This Sunday the children are decorating a prayer journal – to be used each Sunday to record their prayer requests, joys, and concerns. Parents, you could try doing this at home, too. Keeping a family prayer journal would help reinforce what we are teaching in Sunday School.
HIS Kids” are collecting items for “Art for the Heart” for Spofford Home this month. Items needed include: Elmer’s glue, sketchbooks, canvas boards, spin art, scented markers, drawing paper, and construction paper. Bring these things on Wednesday to HIS Kids or to Sondra Buell’s office. Thanks for your help!
