The I Live Big Sunday School lesson for March 29 is about Peter. The lesson comes from Mark 14:26-31, 66-72. It can also be found in the gospel of John 21:15-17. Peter makes a big mistake. However, the children will learn that Jesus loved Peter, and loves us, even when we make a mistake by not being faithful. Ask your child about the rooster. Do you know anyone who has a rooster collection?
The children’s Stewardship lesson today comes from John 15:17: “This is my command: Love each other.” Jesus gave his life because he loved us! We are to share his love with those around us.
The Mother/Son Dirt Date is coming soon and excitement is rising: April 17th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm for boys age 4 through 5th grade. It will be held in the Family Life Center. Please preregister by calling Sondra Buell at the numbers above, or send her an e-mail.
This morning we are honoring and treating our children’s Sunday School teachers to a Teacher Appreciation Breakfast. Thank you, teachers, for giving of your time and efforts to teach the children. It’s a big and important job to help with the spiritual training of children. We sincerely thank you!
We also want to thank all the substitutes who are in the classrooms so the
teachers can attend the training and breakfast this morning.
A BIG thanks goes to the Children’s Sunday School Committee for all their hard work and for hosting this event for the teachers – Eric Thon, Maia Foust, Dalynn Hayakawa, Annie Herring, Stacy Holtzclaw, Jen Huyser, Michel Kaiser, Ingrid McDonald, Beth Rieger and Amy Steinbeck.
Congratulations to Tyler Cornell for memorizing the books of the Bible! Thanks to the 2nd-and 3rd-grade teachers for encouraging their students to meet this awesome goal!
Do our Methodist Church Camps operate under the Safe Sanctuaries Policy?
· Yes!
The Safe Sanctuaries Policy is approved by the Annual Conference and implemented by our Board of Trustees. The purpose is to make each camping experience a safe place for all of God’s children to come and enjoy the presence of God. The policy provides for training and background screening of all camping staff (paid or volunteer) and provides for a maximum camper to counselor ratio of 5 to 1.
