The Luther College Nordic Choir, one of the top a cappella college choirs in the nation, will perform in the sanctuary of the Liberty United Methodist Church on Monday, March, 2, 2009 at 7:30pm.. The concert performance by the 75-member Nordic Choir is open to the public, and a free-will offering will be received.
The Liberty UMC concert is part of the Nordic Choir’s tour of the Midwest as they journey to the American Choral Director’s Association National Convention in Oklahoma City. The choir tours annually and has performed in major concert halls in the United States and Central and Eastern Europe.
Dr. Craig Arnold is Director of Choral Activities, Conductor of the Nordic Choir, and Professor of Music at Luther College in Decorah, IA, following the 57-year tenure of Weston Noble.
Don’t miss this great opportunity to hear the Nordic Choir, as they will surely bless our lives with their tremendous choral artistry.
Easter Choir for Contemporary Services
The Christmas Choir was such a success that we’d like to celebrate Easter by joining voices with the Praise Team and Band again and making a “joyful noise” to our risen Lord! We’ll have a brief meeting between contemporary services at 10:15 on March 15th to pass out music and practice CDs. Then we’ll rehearse the next 4 Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30, childcare provided. We’ll be learning a song to present during the offering along with songs to lead the congregation in worship. We’ll also take some time for fellowship and prayer. The choir will sing on Easter, April 12, at the 9:00 and 10:30 services. To sign up contact Melody Sommers: melody.sommers@lumcmo.org; 781-4554 ext. 121.
