Thank you

First off, thank you so much for all the people that helped out with Advent Journey. From the people that made and brought soups, chilis, and breads, to the students and parents that bussed tables, sold coffee, set up, cleaned up, washed dishes, flipped breakers, and everything people did that helped make the night happen. Thank you a million times over. This event could not have happened without you and your help.


Sunday Night LUMY- Tonight

December 14th, LUMY is back! You don’t want to miss it. We only have tonight and next Sunday (the 21st) and then it’s Christmas! LUMY is the place to be every Sunday night for students in 6th-12th grade. Be there tonight, your face shall be rocked. LUMY 6th-7th-graders meet from 5:30-6:45. 8th-12th-graders meets from 6:30-8:15/30 in the FLC/Wesley Hall.


Bible Study- this week

Wednesday, December 17th, LUMY is going caroling with His Kids instead of Bible Study. Check your e-mail for more on this.


3rd Annual Christmas Movie Marathon

On Friday, December 19th, we will have our annual Christmas Movie Marathon at Jenna and Lora Wiles’ house. This is open to 6th-12th-graders and any college students home for break. From 7-11:30pm we’ll cram in all the Christmas movies you can handle. We’ll get you directions next week. Guys bring something salty; girls bring something sweet to share with everyone. NO PEANUTS! More details next week.

Sunday, Dec. 21st- All LUMY Christmas Party-6:30-8:00pm. Bring a White Elephant gift. Sarah’s brother and sister-in-law and baby Fredrick Lightning may make an appearance!!!

Ski Trip

We now have room for some more people for the Ski Trip. If you are interested and thought you missed your chance, we will allow for some more people to get signed up within the next week and a half. By Sunday, December 21st, we will have to close off sign-ups. So if you are going to sign up, a $75 down payment is required to hold your spot. Also, right now there are very few girls that have signed up, so if you’re a girl and you want to go, get some friends together and get signed up.

Who- 8th-12th grades.

What- Ski/Board Trip/retreat with LUMY through Student Life.

When- Saturday, March 14th; ski 15th, 16th, and 17th and then travel home thru the night to be back on Wednesday the 18th in time for school. With these dates you will still miss school on the 16th and 17th.

Where-Ski at Winter Park and stay at YMCA of the Rockies.

Why-To have a great time skiing/boarding, hanging out with friends, and growing closer to the Lord. At the YMCA we’ll be lead in worship by Steve Fee (from BigStuf) and taught by David Rhodes.

How Much- Approximately $500 which includes transportation, food, gear, lift tickets, housing, and retreat costs. If you are bringing your own ski/board gear the cost will be approximately $475 and if you are not skiing the trip will be approximately $350. This is a great time to use some of the fundraising cards to make this a little cheaper.

Due Dates- because of some more room available, you can still sign up by Sunday, December 21st, pending room availability. $75 is required to sign you up.
