Homemade Rice Dinner Rolls
On Saturday, November 22, the United Methodist Women will be baking dinner rolls for Thanksgiving. If you would like to join the fun of baking rolls, whether you are a member of UMW or not, please call Hazel Davidson at 781.2763. We need people to knead, cut, place rolls on cookie sheets and sack the cooled rolls. The rolls are $5/dozen. They freeze well...if you don’t devour them first! To order please call the church office at 781.4554 or Hazel at 781.2763. The profit from this project will be used to help women and children locally as well as around the world.
Consider donating your old TV to the education ministries of the church.
We need TVs that are:
· at least 27” diagonal
· in good working condition
· able to accept DVD input
· with remote controls
Contact Lora Wiles, Sondra Buell or
Everett Easley to discuss a donation.
MOPS needs your recipes for an all-church cookbook. We are looking for your favorite, tried-n-true, most requested, or any other recipe you would like to submit. We have all categories from appetizers to desserts and even miscellaneous! Feel free to submit as many as 10! A part of the proceeds will go to the building fund. We have the recipe forms in the front office, or we can e-mail it to you. Questions? Call Amy Steinbeck at 781-4554 or 781-2321.
Memorial Banners
It is exciting to honor the life and spirit of Nellie Crockett through our newest banners at the back of the sanctuary. They represent each of the seasonal colors of the church. Last year, the Stations of the Cross banners, above the choir, were hung on Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. These were also memorial gifts from the Nellie Crockett Memorial. Special thanks to Pat Deitrick and Connie Odom-Soper for their work on this project.
Green is used to symbolize growth in Christ. Green is used for the seasons between Epiphany and the beginning of Lent (Ash Wednesday) and between Pentecost and the beginning of Advent. This season is called Ordinary Time, which means “numbered.”
Purple has been the royal color throughout history, and it is the color used for the seasons of
Advent and Lent.
Red symbolizes the precious blood of Christ and is used for Pentecost and for days commemorating martyrs.
White is used for Christmas, Epiphany, Easter and communion Sundays. White symbolizes purity and light.
In all seasons, praise the Lord!
Congratulations!
John Rogers has been honored as the
