Children's Ministries 11/30

During the month of November the Sunday School children have learned that we can praise God any time, any where, and in many ways: with our words, singing songs, dancing, playing instruments. Today they will learn about praises from Psalm 148. When you get home, or sometime this week, open your home Bible and read this psalm out loud to your child/ren. Have them act it out. Have a great time praising God with your child!

As a gift of love all Sunday School children are receiving an Advent Calendar from the
Children’s Sunday School Committee. If your child hasn’t received one yet, stop by Sondra’s office, room 212. She has a few extras.

Coupled with the Advent Calendar and the countdown to Christmas which it provides, get out your Advent Wreath (or make one if you don’t have one yet – you can find directions in the literature racks). Light the first candle each day this week, open the appropriate door on the calendar, read the scripture/verse on the back of the calendar, focus your thoughts on the real meaning of Christmas, and I promise you – THIS WILL BE AN ADVENT MEMORY YOU’LL TREASURE FOREVER!
As a personal testimony, my parents’ leadership in this activity helped me learn to fall in love with Jesus!

Guess what – the Shuttle Ministry is going to provide a shuttle service from the church to the community center on December 14th – so older members of our congregation can easily attend the Children’s Christmas Program and not worry about parking or walking too far! Meet at the church at 6:00, park your car, and hop on the shuttle. The program begins at 6:30 pm. The children’s voices and the retelling of the Christmas Story will be a great blessing!

Next Sunday is Advent Journey 2008! We need a few more shopkeepers to help in the craft shops. You would need to arrive at 4:30 on the 14th. Sign up here today, or call the church office at 781-4554, ext 115.
