Advent Journey Arts & Crafts Show
This year will be Advent Journey’s first ever Arts & Crafts show. LUMC is full of people, young and old, who create wonderful things with their hands. Some of us can only look and be inspired by such ability! If you have a drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery, popsicle stick artwork, quilt, etc. – please share it with us on this special evening. Just have your items to the Family Life Center between 3 and 4:00 on the day of Advent Journey, December 7th.

Advent Journey 2008 ~ The STARS of Christmas!
You may ask . . . What is Advent Journey??? Advent Journey is a big all church event being held Sunday evening, December 7th, from 5:00 to 7:00, where we fellowship with one another, hear beautiful music, make-and-take awesome Advent projects, enjoy a wonderful soup supper at the Advent Café, play games, shop at the Cokesbury bookstore, and prepare our hearts for Christmas! The suggested donation for the craft projects is $5.00 per person or $10.00 per family. The suggested donation for the soup supper is $3.00 per person or $10.00 per family.
Besides coming and having a fabulous time on Dec. 7th, there are opportunities to get involved behind the scenes before the event, and help with the activities during the event. Call the church office or check the items below and turn this in the Sondra Buell:
I would like to:
___ Bring cupcakes for the families to decorate. I can bring ___ dozen. (Note: we’ll need these Sunday morning, Dec. 7th)
___ Donate cans of frosting. I can bring ___ cans. (Note: any flavor!)
___ Help with craft project preparations, i.e. cutting felt or yarn, sorting beads, twirling pipe cleaners, etc. (Note: these things are done at home and brought back to church)
___ Serve as a Shopkeeper the night of Advent Journey, assisting in one of the craft/project shops. (Note: you don’t have to be crafty, you just need to pass out supplies and maybe run a glue gun! You’ll also get to wear a really fun Advent Apron!)
___ Play an instrument or the piano, or sing during Advent Journey. (Note: this can be with a group or as an individual)
