Small Group Studies Beginning Now...
Faith Lessons: Bible Stories for Adults Wednesdays, 6-7 pm in the Study Center. Teaching video filmed in the Holy Land provides fascinating context and practical application to the stories of the Bible. Julie & Tony Bavuso host this discussion. Each lesson stands alone, so come once or come every week.
Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis’ classic, will be the next Promise Keepers Study which begins Tuesday, November 25, at 6 am in Study Center 3. All men are invited to join in a discussion of this book which provides a powerful presentation of core Christian teachings.
Journey, a group of couples and singles in their 20s and 30s, is offering the popular study, Making Love Last a Lifetime at 9:45 in Ark 2 beginning December 7. Join them for this DVD and discussion of the Biblical perspective on love and marriage.
Much of the world conflict that makes the news has its roots in religious differences. Join Lighthouse small group for Christianity and World Religions beginning Dec 7 at 9:45 in Study Center 2. You’ll get a brief overview of various religions, explore commonalities and differences, and discuss ways to build bridges to reach out to non-Christians. Cara Pilch facilitates.
Plan Now to Attend Advent Journey Next Sunday
Advent Journey is one of the highlights of the Christmas season at LUMC. It’s a one-stop evening of food, fun, crafts and entertainment to usher in the Season of Advent. From 5-7 pm on Sunday, Dec. 7, you can enjoy a soup bar, a variety of entertainment, a trip through Cokesbury’s on-site bookstore, and craft stations galore where children will celebrate the stars of the Christmas story (see the Children’s Ministry page for more info).
Adults are needed to staff the craft stations. All supplies and instructions are provided; you’ll just need to restock supplies and provide encouragement and a helping hand to the crafters. Contact Sondra Buell to volunteer.
Use this event as an opportunity to invite a friend or neighbor without a church home to experience the fellowship of the body of Christ.
Adoption Support Sunday
Was a Success!
Thank you to the families who shared photos and ministry moments last Sunday as we recognized the members of our congregation who have been touched by adoption.
If you have questions about adoption or want to talk to someone who has navigated the adoption process already, contact Lora Wiles about upcoming activities of LUMC’s Adoption Support Group.
Parents of College Students:
Have you given your student’s college address to Andrew and Sarah Beard in Student Ministries? We don’t want your college student to be left out of care packages and updates about post-hi ministries. Email college addresses to Sarah.Beard@lumcmo.org
