Sunday Night LUMY- LUMY is the place to be every Sunday night for students in 6th-12th grade. It could quite possibly be the best evening of your week. You will not be disappointed. Tonight, bring a friend. LUMY 101 (6th-7th-graders) meets from 5:30-6:45 in the FLC/Wesley Hall. LUMY (8th-12th -graders) meets from 6:30-8:15 in the FLC/Wesley Hall. Also, please do not show up or drop off before your group’s time. See you tonight.

Fundraising- We still have fundraising cards available for you to help offset the cost of events. You can stop by the youth office (rm 206) and pick up a stack of Superior Cards. Each one has LUMY written on the front, and the back has coupon offers that are good until October 2009. These cards also can be used once a day everyday until they expire in a year. These cards will pretty much sell themselves! The cards will be sold for $10.00 and you will get $6.00 on each card into your own LUMY account. You do not need to pay anything when you pick the cards up, but you are responsible for that money. If you want some set aside, just reply to Sarah (sarah.beard@lumcmo.org) with how many you would like. You just need to turn in the money to the youth office and we will keep track of the rest.

Mystery Trip- The mystery trip is right around the corner. This is a trip that is a total mystery for 10th-12th-graders. We’ll be leaving Thursday, October 30th, and we’ll be back on the evening of Saturday, November 1st. Please let us know ASAP if you want to attend. More details to come…but not a lot of details…then it wouldn’t be a mystery.

Snacks for LUMY- We now have the new popcorn machine to help feed our ever-growing youth program. This item did cost quite a bit of money, so if you feel like you are able to give, please make checks out to LUMC and put “LUMY snacks” in the memo. We appreciate any offering you are able to give to help offset this cost.

Bible Study- Wednesday night Bible Studies are in full swing. 10th-12th grade meet from 5-6pm in Study Center 4 (across from the LUMY room). 6th and 7th meet from 6:15-7pm in the LUMY Room. And 8th and 9th grade meet from 7:15-8:15pm in Study Center 4.

Prayer Group- LUMY has started a prayer group just for students. We currently are meeting on Thursday nights. If you have prayer requests, we would love to lift them up in prayer. Or if you feel as though you would like to be a part of this group we would love to have you join us to learn about prayer and to pray for students and their needs. Please contact us to give us prayer requests, or to let us know you are coming so we can get you time and location of our meeting.

College Connect- Thank you so much to the people that have already given so generously to the College Connect program. If you haven’t given yet, or you are not sure what College Connect is, please read on. In our church, we want to be able to support our students as they move on from high school to college. One of the ways we reach them is by sending them “care packages” around finals time to know that people back home are thinking of them. To be sensitive to what students want and/or need, we are excited to announce that we will now send them gift cards to use at their own discretion during those busy times of the school year. So, we need your help with two things. 1, we need to start collecting $5 gift cards from chain stores (Starbucks, Target, Taco Bell, Subway, Sonic, etc). Please drop these gift cards in one of the LUMY Black Boxes located outside the youth office (rm 206) or outside the FLC/Wesley Hall. 2, we need to know who is in college and what their address is if they are between the ages of 17-24 and are taking any college classes. Please email this information to Andrew.beard@lumcmo.org.

LUMY Coffee- We are still selling coffee, but we are currently just selling it out of our office. If you are interested in coffee or hot chocolate, please stop by the LUMY office (rm 206) and pick some up for $10. We will start selling again during the services starting in November
