Children's Ministries 10/12

Sunday School lesson for this Sunday comes from 1 Kings 2:1-4; 4:29-34. The children will learn about another king in the Bible, King Solomon. God told Solomon he could have anything he wished, and he asked God for wisdom so he could be a good leader for the people. King Solomon did become a very wise king and tried hard to please God.

Stewardship lesson in Children’s Sunday School: Today we will talk about offering plates. We’ll read 2 Kings 12:9 to learn more about offering plates. Ask you child about the very special “dryer” container we are using right now for our collection box!

Today we welcome the “HIS Kids” to worship! They are singing at 8:30 and 9:00 services. Along with their music, we have 7 speakers: Payton Christensen, Tyler Cornell, Grace Ordonio, Lauren Rankin, Taylor Sparks, Kassidy Tocco, and Jackson Witt.

Liberty United Methodist Church has a long heritage of teaching children about missions. “‘Love your neighbor as yourself” comes alive as we help children learn how to lovingly reach out to those around us, to those less fortunate than us, and to those in other countries.
For the past several weeks, the “HIS Kids” children have been collecting food items and products for In As Much. This coming Wednesday, the kids in Club 45 “HIS Kids” will be taking a field trip to In As Much to deliver all these items. Thanks to the parents who have helped their children with this great project!

Advent Journey

Advent Journey, being held Sunday evening, December 7th from 5:00 to7:00, is a whole-church event with food, fellowship, music, crafts, games, and a bookstore.

Each year we gather together a team to plan for this awesome event. If you would like to serve on this planning team, please sign up today. Help us pick a theme, decide on the craft projects, line up the entertainment, and arrange for the book sale. The youth group will be planning the supper and games for the small children.
Our first meeting will be October 15th at 7:15 pm. E-mail Sondra Buell for details.
