The Political Christian: Election Day is right around the corner. Enjoy some Biblically focused discussion of politics , God’s kingdom, and how we, as voters, can have a voice in bringing it all together in The Political Christian; Wednesdays at 6:30 pm in room 224, Oct 1, 8 and 15.

New Support Groups Forming Now

Divorce Recovery, led by James and Cindy Carrier, begins Oct. 7 at 7 pm in Study Center Garage Classroom. Join others who are seeking support as well as biblical and practical strategies for managing life after divorce. Register now; childcare is available.

Grief and the Holidays: Holidays can be especially painful when a loved one is absent. One-day workshops on Grief and the Holidays will be offered Thurs., Nov. 6, at 6 pm and Mon., Nov. 10, at 2 pm for those
seeking some help with holiday grief. These workshops will be led by Grief Counselor Dorothe Lowrie and LUMC’s Ingrid McDonald.

Grief Support: A Grief Support Group will begin meeting Mondays at 2pm, Nov 17—Dec 29. We all grieve in different ways and with our own timing. This group, led by Grief Counselor Dorothe Lowrie, is for anyone who would like help coping with grief, regardless of how long ago a loss occurred. Register Now.
New Couples’ Small Group
10:30 on Sundays
Looking for an opportunity to meet other couples and engage in
meaningful small group studies mixed with social activities? Couples of all ages are invited to kick off a new small group on October 12 at 10:30 am on Sunday mornings. Planned study topics include Making Love Last a Lifetime, Christianity and World Religions, Christianity’s Family Tree and Prayer. No homework in this group. Come learn, grow and fellowship together. Register now to be notified of a small group kickoff activity before the class begins!
College Connect ~ $5 Gift Cards Needed
Many college students still consider us to be their church home. Help us stay connected with them by supporting College Connect. Donate a $5 gift cards from any chain store- (Subway, McDonalds, Target, etc) which we’ll include in care packages along with notes of encouragement. This is an ongoing effort, so gift cards will always be welcomed and appreciated. They can be left at the church office or in a black LUMY box located outside the youth office, room 206, or outside the entrance to the Family Life Center. We also need college addresses for those from our congregation ages 17-24 who are taking any college classes. If you’d like to help with this ministry in other ways, contact Lora Wiles.
