LUMY 9/14

Sunday Night LUMY- This last Sunday was the first LUMY of the school year and it was amazing. You do not want to miss it tonight, Sunday the 14th. Bring a friend, they deserve some fun, too. LUMY 101 (6th-and 7th-Graders) meets from 5:30-6:45 and LUMY (8th-12th-graders) meets from 6:30-8:15, both in the FLC/Wesley Hall. Also, please do not show up or drop off before your age group’s time (i.e. 5:30 or 6:30).

Snacks for LUMY- As our student ministry program has continued to grow, we are having more and more people at youth which means we need more and more snacks to feed the students if we want to continue that portion of our meetings. We have decided to purchase a popcorn machine and also a nacho machine (the nacho machine may be purchased at a later date) to help save you (the parents) money. This way for snacks, we would need parents to just serve up the food instead of having to buy it. I know that many parents end up spending over $50 each time they help with snacks. These items do cost quite a bit of money, so if you feel like you are able to give, please make checks out to LUMC and put LUMY snacks in the memo. We appreciate any offering you are able to give to help offset this cost.

Flight Training- We do an early morning study for our 11th-and 12th-graders on Monday and Tuesday morning before school. This is a time when we help prepare our students to head out into the college or career world. The studies currently meet in our office (room 206) on Monday at 6:50am and Tuesday at 6:30am. You do not need to come to both; the two times are for people with scheduling conflicts.

Bible Study- Student Bible Studies are now in full swing. These LUMY Bible studies all meet on Wednesday nights in the Study Center. 10th-12th grade meet from 5-6pm in Study Center 4 (across from the LUMY room). 6th-7th grade meet from 6:15-7pm in the LUMY room. And 8th and 9th grade meet from 7:15-8:15pm in Study Center 4. All Bible Studies start this Wednesday, September 10th.

Prayer Group- LUMY has started a prayer group just for students. We currently are meeting on Thursday nights. If you have prayer requests, we would love to lift them up in prayer. Or if you feel as though you would like to be part of this group, we would love to have you join us to learn about prayer and to pray for students and their needs. Please contact Andrew or Sarah Beard to either give prayer requests or to find out the prayer meeting time and location.
