Music Notes 8/17

Carillon News
The new carillon (John E. Sprugel memorial) was dedicated last Sunday, August 10, and is now
on a constant but flexible schedule. So that you know when this beautiful instrument will be ringing, here is our schedule.

Monday through Saturday: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm - Hour Strike with a Westminster Chime.
Monday through Saturday: 9:00, 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm after the Hour Strike - A Selected Hymn
Sunday: 8:25 and 10:55 - Bell Peal to announce the upcoming worship services.

This ringing schedule and selected hymns can be adjusted for each specific week’s or day’s needs. It will also be used within the services from time to time, weddings and funerals particularly. It is a beautiful addition to the worship tools we already have here at Liberty UMC. For a tour and demonstration of the carillon, please call Bryan Taylor at the church.

Chancel Choir Begins

The Chancel Choir will be starting their fall kickoff with a Choir Retreat on Saturday, August 23. Doughnuts, coffee and juice will be served in the narthex beginning at 8:00 am. Rehearsals will begin at 9:00 am and will last until 4:00 pm. Lunch is provided, and we look forward to seeing you there. New members are certainly welcomed and hopeful! Please call me with any questions you might have. ~ Bryan
