The Live B.I.G. Sunday School lesson for August 24th comes from Acts 9:36-42. The Bible story is about a woman named Dorcas. She made clothes and used her talents in a simple but very important way to serve the Lord. This week find ways to praise your child for being a good helper like Dorcas.
Acolyte Training, for 3rd graders, is today noon. Meet upstairs in room 220. Parents, drop off of your 3rd grader at 12:00 for a pizza luncheon and come back at 2:00 for a short meeting together. Dismissal is at 2:15.
There will be a very special “Children’s Church” for kids ages 0 through 5th grade during the All-Church “United We Worship” service on September 14th at the Liberty Community Center. Bring your kids! They’ll have a great time worshiping Jesus!

Something brand new is happening this year for our 3rd-graders. Third-grade Bible Sunday service and presentation will be Sunday, September 7th, at 12:00 noon.
But wait, there's more exciting news! The Friday night before, Sept. 5th, LUMC will host a 3rd-grade lock-in for all 3rd-graders that wish to attend. We’ll have an overnight of lessons, food, fellowship, fun & games to help them learn all about the Bibles they will be receiving on Sunday. If you would like to help us plan any part of this exciting and fun night, please let us know by e-mailing Amy Steinbeck at 5steinbecks@covad.net.
To register for this 3rd-grade lock in, please visit the children’s page on our website.
