Children's Ministries 8/17

This Sunday’s Sunday School Lesson is called:
The Centurion’s Servant.
The children will study Luke 7:1-10. They’ll learn that the Centurion was an army leader who sought help for one of his men that he considered his friend. Ask your child what he did for his friend. What did Jesus do? What can you do for your friends?

Be a Hero for a Child
God has an adventure planned for you right here at Liberty United Methodist Church, where you play the role of a hero and do something big to benefit the children, for eternity! In Exodus 31:3 it says: “I have filled you with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge.” Isn’t it exciting to know that God prepares us! And what could be more important than teaching our children about Jesus! That will make you a hero!
Be a Hero for a Child and volunteer for Children’s Sunday School, Wednesday night HIS Kids, or the nursery.

3rd-Grade Bible Presentation
Something brand new is happening this year for our 3rd-graders. Third-grade Bible Sunday service and presentation will be Sunday, September 7th, at 12:00 noon.
But wait, there's more exciting news! The Friday night before, Sept. 5th, LUMC will host a 3rd-grade lock-in for all 3rd-graders that wish to attend. We’ll have an overnight of lessons, food, fellowship, fun & games to help them learn all about the Bibles they will be receiving on Sunday. If you would like to help us plan any part of this exciting and fun night, please let us know by e-mailing Amy Steinbeck at 5steinbecks@covad.net.
To register for this 3rd-grade lock in, please visit the children’s page on our website.

For parents new to HIS Kids:
The HIS Kids Committee will be hosting a New Parent meeting next Sunday at 12:00 noon in the ARK.

Promotion Sunday for the children will be August 24th. On that Sunday, the kids will report to their new grade –level classrooms.
