This next Sunday we’ll enjoy two, at the very least, special celebrations. In traditional worship we will have much choral music, all of which is special. The Chancel Choir will be taking their well-deserved summer break, so we will enjoy a little extra of that ministry next Sunday.
In all services we will be celebrating our volunteers who do such tremendous mission work, our VIM volunteers (Volunteers in Mission), our Faithworks (does amazing local help for those in need), the DIRT Team (Disaster Response anywhere), our Soup Kitchen volunteers (once each month to Kansas City, Kansas , for the last 20-some years), United Methodist Women (many projects, but most recently food backpacks for public school children to take home on weekends), Club 54 (4th and 5th grade HIS Kids who work on local mission projects) and many more groups who work with support ministries such as Love INC, Rebuilding Liberty, reStart, Della C. Lamb, Spofford and more, too numerous to count! Anyhow, next Sunday we’ll celebrate!

Is anyone surprised that Kevin Fisher was just elected to a four-year term on the conference board of the Office of Creative Ministries? The Annual Conference has noticed.

A hearty and godly thank you to those who helped the first grocery drive to be a huge success! Sarah Scott stated that she had a truckload of groceries to deliver to our food pantry. The people at InAsMuch Ministries, were delighted. Food for the Less Fortunate is a growing demand right now.

Doug, Carrie and Zachary Walsh lost their HOUSE in the May 2nd twister. Yesterday, Carrie birthed a new little daughter, Anna Christine, who will enter their new HOME. Life has its compensations.
