Mark's Remarks 5/4

Many of our community have traveled to Europe and viewed the great cathedrals there. We marvel at the dedication and sacrifice over, in many cases, several hundred years, as a sign of devotion to God. We’re not going to take hundreds of years, and I don’t believe we’re looking for medieval levels of sacrifice. But there remain commonalities.
It’s not every generation that has the privilege of building for God. In some communities, the same building can serve well for generations. In communities of growth and change, where new churches are constructed, in some denominations, not everyone has a vote on the appearance of the church. We intend to provide that through our actions of May 18. We want all to have input.
That is the easy part. We all will need to labor together to make it happen. You may be happy with the look or the plan, you may like just parts. Some changes can be made. However, whether you like it all or part, we all work together. There’s no room for, “I didn’t like it so count me out.” You would want to enjoy the benefits of what will prove to be terrific, knowing that you did take part. You’ll want your children and grandchildren to know what you have done for God.
So come and vote. Come and communicate. Many have spent countless hours in assembling the long-term best plan for our church community!
