In a recent ministry moment, prayer between husband and wife was described as the couple beginning at opposite corners of the base a triangle with God at the top. As husband and wife draw closer to God through prayer, they inevitably draw closer together as well.

The Marriage Committee encourages all couples to commit to praying together 5 minutes daily for 40 days. Prayer prompts will be available. Commitment cards signifying acceptance of the 40-Day Prayer Challenge are available in today’s VIEW or from ushers on May 4. Commitment cards will be brought forward during Communion on May 4.
Singles are also challenged to pair with a friend for 40 Days of prayer.

National Day of Prayer, Thursday, May 1
Prayer Vigil 9:30 am – 9:30 pm
May Support and Fellowship Dates
Donuts with Dads: Saturday, May 17, at 9 am on the playground. In case of bad weather, the group will meet in the Family Life Center. All dads and their kids age birth-3rd grade are welcome.
Adoption Support Group: Sunday, May 18, at 6:30 in room 220.
Senior Potluck and Fellowship: Tuesday, May 20, at 11:45 in the Study Center. All Senior citizens are invited to bring a dish to share. Plan to stay for a time of games and fellowship.
4th Friday Playgroup: Friday, May 23, from 10 am-noon in the Family Life Center. All moms with children ages birth-preschool are encouraged to attend.
Give God 200 minutes over 40 days, and expect great things in return.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
